Jenny Sue Kimmel
Jenny Sue Kimmel, age 86, of New Harmony, passed away March 1, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. She was born April 23, 1939, in New Harmony, to Christopher and Naomi Ruth Reeves.
Jenny was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in New Harmony and attended New Harmony High School. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, working word search puzzles, making trips to McDonald’s, and watching hummingbirds.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Kimmel; a stillborn daughter, Virginia Sue; several brothers and sisters.
Jenny is survived by her daughters, Susan Kimmel and Peggy Webber; her sons, William “Buddy” Kimmel and James Kimmel; several grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Barnett.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Wednesday afternoon, March 4, at Schneider Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in New Harmony. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 until service time at the funeral home for Jenny Sue Kimmel.
