North Posey Vikings Football VS Pike Central 09-19-25

The North Posey Vikings put on a dominant performance Friday night at Pike Central, rolling to a 49–6 victory. From the opening snap, the Vikings made a statement as Dylan Murphy sprinted 80 yards for a touchdown, and North Posey never looked back. Pike Central briefly cut the deficit to 14–6 early in the second quarter, but the Vikings responded with a relentless offensive surge that quickly put the game out of reach.

Junior quarterback Carter Schickel had a record-setting night for North Posey, completing 18 of 24 passes for 302 yards and seven touchdowns, setting a new school record for single-game passing scores. His favorite target was Murphy, who caught six passes for 145 yards and four touchdowns. Remi Johnson added five catches for 82 yards and a score, while Bret Buecher turned in a balanced performance with 107 rushing yards on 17 carries, plus four receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown. Camden Clowers and Davin Sullivan also chipped in with big catches, including Clowers’ 19-yard touchdown. Brody Fehn added one reception for 14 yards.

In total, the Vikings racked up 439 yards of offense, split between 302 through the air and 137 on the ground. Buecher’s 100-yard rushing effort marked his fourth such game in five weeks, underscoring his consistency. The Vikings scored on seven of their first eight possessions, the lone exception coming on a failed fake punt. It was a balanced, efficient offensive showing that left little doubt about North Posey’s firepower.

Defensively, the Vikings were just as sharp. Landon Crawford led the way with nine tackles, while Lane Young and Cole Kissel each added six. Kissel also recovered a fumble, and Murphy contributed on the defensive side with five stops. Brandon Kortz tallied four tackles, and Xavier Epley added three. Several others chipped in with one or two tackles apiece, as the Vikings held Pike Central to just 104 total yards — 99 rushing and only five passing. The Chargers’ lone bright spot was running back Grant Boyd, who carried 15 times for 73 yards and scored their only touchdown.

With the win, North Posey improves to 4–1 on the season and remains unbeaten in PAC Small School Division play at 3–0.
