A 27-year-old Mt. Vernon man is expected to spend the next decade locked up for selling cocaine in Posey County. On Monday, Di Kemba Robinson was sentenced to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to the offense. Police say they caught Robinson during an undercover operation involving drug task forces in Posey and Vanderburgh counties. According to an affidavit, Robinson delivered large amounts of cocaine to an undercover police informant multiple times last year. Robinson will serve his time in the Indiana Department of Correction.

 

Tomorrow night is Week 2 of the High School Football season and both Posey County teams will be looking to improve to 2-0 on the season. Mt. Vernon Football hits the road to battle Boonville at 7:00 PM. The Pioneers are also 1-0 after they thumped Paoli at home last week, 33-0. North Posey Football is also away from home tomorrow evening as they journey to Tecumseh for a 7:00 PM kickoff. The Braves are 0-1 after they got beat at Princeton in Week 1, 28-16. Jordan Fisher and Chris Morlan will have the radio broadcast on 98.9 FM WPIW and online at poseycountyradio.com.

 

Last night in local high school sports…North Posey Volleyball got a win at home in straight sets vs Evansville Christian. They won 25-15, 25-21, 25-19. The Vikings improve to 4-0 on the year.

 

Coming up tonight in local high school sports…North Posey Volleyball is on the road at Harrison. The JV match is at 5:30 PM and the Varsity match is at 7:00 PM.

North Posey Boys Soccer plays at South Spencer at 5:30 PM.

North Posey Boys Tennis welcomes Harrison at 4:30 PM.

North Posey Girls Golf has a match against Gibson Southern and Southridge at 4:30 PM.

Mt. Vernon Girls Golf takes on Castle and Central at home at 4:15 PM.

Mt. Vernon Boys Tennis battles Princeton at home at 5:00 PM.

 

Local college sports this evening features…Evansville Men’s Soccer on the road at #15 North Carolina at 6:30 PM.

Evansville Women’s Soccer welcomes Purdue for a 6:00 PM match.

USI Women’s Soccer has a home match this afternoon against Eastern Michigan at 1:05 PM.

 

From Major League Baseball on Wednesday…the St. Louis Cardinals lost a pitchers’ duel at home to the Pittsburgh Pirates, 2-1. The Cardinals have lost back-to-back games vs Pittsburgh and will go for the 4-game split this afternoon at 1:15 PM. St. Louis has a record of 65-69.
